Questions to ask Utah Reception Centers Before You Book

The man of your dreams asked, you answered, and now your wedding celebration adventure begins. After you decide on a date or a couple of dates, you will want to begin your search the many reception centers in Utah for the perfect wedding location that matches your style and budget. Begin your quest now, so you can book what you want and don’t have to “settle” for a venue that happens to be available for your date. These are important questions to ask your Salt Lake City wedding venues as you search on the web and visit in person.

1. The first question a bride should ask a reception center is the availability of your chosen date or possible dates. Save yourself pain by not falling in love with a venue that is not available.

2. What is the maximum number of guests can the venue handle? If you are planning a sit-down dinner for 150 people, you need to first seek those venues that can host that many.

3. What do wedding reception places in Utah provide and what will you need to provide? Make sure you know what is included for the price you will pay. Many venues include a lot, some charge for their space only. Find out!

4. How will you be able to decorate the venue to give it a touch of your own style? How many color choices will you have to choose from for your linens? Do they offer stylish centerpieces? Can you hang items from the ceiling?

5. Do you have to use the venue’s own caterers, or can you bring in your own caterer? Can you self-cater? Does the venue offer good recommendations for other wedding vendors in a wide range of costs?

6. What does the facility itself offer? Does it have a dance floor, bride’s room, groom’s room, children’s room, good sound system, piano, food preparation room, ice machine, and so forth?

7. Does the venue offer a wedding specialist for help in planning and a wedding host for the event itself? Some centers only furnish the space only and offer limited help and guidance as you plan.

8. What parking is available for you and your guests? Does it cost more? Is it close to the entrance of the reception center?

9. Does the venue have an alcohol policy? What is it? Some Utah wedding locations do not allow alcohol except for champagne.

10. Venue restrictions – Are there any and what are they? Some venues can not allow open flames. Are there any city ordinances on time restraints? Noise restrictions?

Realize now that crazy things can and often do happen on your wedding day. But if you plan ahead and choose a good wedding reception center, like one of the Utah wedding venues run by Western Gardens called Atrium Weddings, then chances of having a perfect wedding day is dramatically increased. Let the wedding professionals worry about all those little things, so that you and your beau can focus on the things only you can do. For example….

On our wedding day, much like most other days, there are some laughable moments. You know, those moments that don’t seem very funny at the time but you can laugh about them later. Whether you like it or not, there will be a few of those moments on your big day. On my incredible day one of those moments was when my husband forgot to shave his face.

We had a few minutes to talk before getting ready for the ceremony. So we talked for a little bit telling each other how excited and nervous we both were. As I went to give him a kiss I noticed that he had forgotten to shave that morning. I touched his face and he realized his mistake. He told me how he was so nervous and had so much on his mind that he needed to remember to do that day that he did not even think about shaving. I guess he forgot to look in the mirror as well! He was sincerely apologetic. We thought about sending for a shaver, but at that point it was too close to the ceremony to do anything about it. So we just had to go on as if nothing was wrong. Luckily, the hair on his face is light and not easily noticeable on camera. He did end up getting many comments about his lack of shaving, but his sisters were especially amused by it.

You must realize that on your wedding day, things will happen that are beyond your control. You just have to take the day as it comes. Reception Centers in Utah Will Not Let You Get Caught in the Rain

I had always wanted a spring garden wedding reception so my fiancé and I decided on a date in mid May. His parents had the most gorgeous back yard that I thought would be absolutely perfect for the event. They agreed to host the event, but brought us to look at Atrium Weddings, one of Western Garden’s reception centers in Utah, just to be sure we didn’t want to use a venue that we would not have to worry about rain. I was adamant about having the reception in the backyard. The Atrium was beautiful but just not what I wanted. So it was settled, we would have the event in the backyard and pray for no rain.

We spent the following months planting new flowers, new grass seed and making sure the yard looked just right. I dreamt of where everything would be placed and where we would stand. We all prayed for the weather to cooperate. As the day speedily approached, everything was in order and the weather was beautiful. We checked the forecast daily just to be sure the day would be perfect. The week before there was no chance of rain but as the days went on the chance of rain increased. I prayed, no pleaded, that there would be no rain, with no luck. Two days before the wedding we were forced to come up with a change of plans. The day before, we set all the tables and chairs up inside. We set large white canopies up outside to accommodate the line. All I could say was “oh well” because there was nothing I could do at that point.

The day of the wedding was just as predicted by the weather man. It poured rain. I have never seen so much rain in Utah in my life. We were lucky enough to get some outdoor pictures while the rain took a little break, but other than that hour, the rain did not stop all day long. Although the day was not quite like I had hoped or dreamed, it was the best day of my life and the rain made it very memorable. Also, just so we never forget, it has since rained on every one of our anniversaries.

Wedding Venues in Utah That Give Bride’s Choice

This simple ceremony was a family affair with plenty of family to enjoy the union of the couple. Brides enjoy wedding venues in Utah in which they can choose their own cake designer and caterer. You find that at Atrium Weddings.

Tom Catrow was their caterer who served his own delicacies including puff pastries, sandwiches, fruit kabobs, and an assortment of cheese and crackers. A close friend created the flower arrangements and Granite Bakery created their cake. With a touch of beach style, the tiers of cake sat upon glass vases filled with sea shells. Seashells also dotted the table centerpieces.

Notice the groom’s cake. Obviously Rubics Cubes are big with this groom. He cut one perfect square out of it and shared with his new wife.

Western Garden’s Wedding Venues in Utah Allow Self-catering As Seen at This Celebration

Western Garden’s wedding venues in Utah both celebrated wedding ceremonies and receptions on a beautiful day in August. Atrium Weddings’ outdoor waterfall plaza was the setting for the ceremony of Steve and Cari and their wedding party.

This dashing couple enjoyed the warmth of the sun and the trickle of the waterfall as they exchanged vows and rings at this Utah wedding venue. After congratulating the newlyweds in an informal line on the plaza, everyone came inside and enjoyed dinner which was self-catered by the family. Costco sandwiches, fruit, veggies, cheese, crackers and sheet cake were all on the simple and delicious menu. Atrium allows self-catering, especially during these trying economic times.

The wedding cake was created by a friend of the bride and the floral bouquets and boutonnieres were fashioned by this Utah wedding venue’s preferred florist Hillside Floral. A dear friend John was the couple’s photographer.

Reception venues in Utah are lucky to have a wedding place like Atrium Weddings that recommends great partners, but is versatile to allow a bride to stay within her budget. This indeed was a beautiful celebration of love and joy!

April 13, 2012 – Salt Lake City Wedding Venues Can Help Save the Day

Wedding reception centers in Salt Lake City can help alleviate or make worse any catastrophe that may happen on that most special day. This beautiful couple experienced disasters that no one wishes upon anyone, especially on their wedding day. Thankfully, Atrium Weddings event coordinator was there to calm the situations that she nor the couple had no control over.

First the cake provider, not recommended by Atrium, called and indicated they had dropped the wedding cake masterpiece. They would try to salvage what was possible and would be behind schedule. When it finally came, only the middle and top layers were somewhat there. Without the bride seeing the disaster that sat upon the beautiful silver cake pedestal, the Atrium host and family jumped into action. One scurried away and bought two round white cakes from a local grocery store, another retrieved some ribbon from previous decorating of the Utah wedding location, and others kept the bride occupied in the bride’s room while some doctoring took place. By the time the bride emerged, she had a 3-tiered cake again. Only the original top was used and ribbon was placed to hide the seams of the other two new layers. It turned out fine and the bride was grateful for the teamwork of her family and Atrium staff.

If the cake nightmare wasn’t enough, the Reverend to perform the ceremony finally arrived an hour late. That put everyone on edge, but again, Atrium’s event host was there to calm the waters and make do with a tense situation. The caterers waited, guests waited, bride and groom waited; however, it did give some extra time to fix the wedding cake presentation.

Because the dinner was so delayed, the Atrium staff jumped into high-gear to set up for the reception after everyone had enjoyed their late meal. It was all resolved and gratefully, Atriums’ professionalism was calming and helped make the evening another beautiful wedding celebration of love at Atrium Weddings. These Salt Lake City wedding reception guests had no idea all that had taken place just hours before.

After it all, the bride was so grateful that she left this written note to Atrium Weddings. “You are all amazing! You made my day smooth and stress free – Just what every Bride needs!”

Salt Lake City Weddings Venue with Advantageous Choices and Amenities

This bride and groom pulled off a beautiful, warm, yet fun wedding celebration at Atrium Weddings, a Salt Lake City weddings venue specifically in Sandy. Her lime green and elegant black color scheme was perfect as they complimented Atrium’s backdrop of rich greenery.

From the start, Atrium guests enjoyed the outside marquee with the wedding party’s names indicating they had found the right place! They were directed into a spacious and secure parking. Guests only had to walk a matter of feet to the entrance of the wedding venue.

Atrium guests were not the only ones to enjoy this celebration. The bride and her mother enjoyed the comfort of Atrium’s spacious bride’s room with plenty of good lighting and mirrors. The Father of the Bride was delighted with the value he received for his pocketbook. Atrium is warm and inviting with plenty of space for all. The photographer enjoyed the many beautiful settings for wedding portraits. All of the wedding party could enjoy dancing. The dance floor at this wedding reception center is spacious and allows that special first dance for the couple and then easily accommodates plenty of guests to join in the festive celebration.

It is advantageous to rent a reception center that allows the bride to choose Atrium’s preferred caterers or bring their own favorite caterer to the event. This bride chose to have family and friends do her refreshments offering cake, grapes for the children, and other delicious finger foods that were easy to transport and set up. Also included was a candy station for those with a real sweet tooth!
