Color, color, color!  Wedding reception venues in Utah like Atrium weddings, allow brides to use their own florists, cake designers, and caterers for their wedding receptions. This bride introduced to Atrium the most vibrant color scheme to our wedding venue in the last seven years of countless celebrations.  The striking blue delphiniums and hydrangeas, coral and pink roses, yellow freesias and hydrangeas, deep orange alstroemeria, bright purple stocks, and lemon leaf greens came together to dazzle the eye.

This color pallet was carried throughout the wedding reception hall with similar floral arrangements on the guest sign-in table and the beautiful flowers placed on the wedding cake.  The bride’s cake was a three tiered simple smooth white cake with tiffany blue satis ribbons accenting around the base of each tier.  Simple and so elegant!

The bride chose Atrium’s tall silver candle stick centerpiece, which is one of the choices that comes with the basic rental package, which was placed in the middle of a lemon leaf wreath. Additional flowers of the same scheme were placed around and throughout the lemon leaves.

Utah Wedding Receptions and the First Man in Your Life – Your Father!

Don't forget the first man in your life at your wedding reception celebration in Sandy

Your Dad!  He has been the main man in your life for many years.  He was the first man to love you and the first man you loved.  If at all possible, don’t miss out on a special moment with the first man in your life.   Many Utah wedding receptions include this tradition of wedding celebrations.  It becomes a tender moment and most memorable for the bride and her Dad, and her mother!  You don’t want any regrets of having this moment, if you have the chance.

I took liberty to ask some mothers and recent brides what they thought of this tradition.  For a mother in Draper, Utah, Sharae believes this moment is a “symbol of a father who has loved and taken care of his daughter for so many years,” and a beautiful way to say his goodbyes and send her on to the new man in her life.    My friend Carolyn from Holladay, Utah, never had this tender moment with her father.  Now that she has a daughter of her own, she wishes she had planned on that tradition at her wedding.  She says that “this special dance could have been a nice way to help my father let go and let me move on with the new man that I love.”  It probably would have been easier for him to have that little bit of closure of me marrying and moving away.

My mother did not have a dance with her father at her reception.  In fact, she said that she didn’t even think of having one.  It must have “skipped my mind” with all the other plans and she didn’t have anyone to help her be organized.  She wishes she would have had a wedding specialist help her with all those little details.  Her father died several years ago and when she goes to other receptions and watches the bride dance with her father, she regrets not having the same experience.

Atrium Weddings at Western Gardens Sandy and Ivy House Weddings at Western Gardens Downtown are two wedding venues in Utah that have perfect dance floors and wonderful sound systems for the bride’s tender dance with her father.  It is the icing on the cake, so to speak, the cherry on top, a very special touch that honors that man who has raised and cared for his little girl who is now a beautiful bride.

There’s no need to research several wedding venue locations and halls in Utah. The Atrium at Western Gardens can help meet all of your wedding reception needs.

Depending on your neighborhood, there seem to always be women and men around who are willing to help with anything they can.  In my neighborhood, every young woman in the area was given a bridal shower from the neighbors.  People helped make food and even served at the wedding celebrations.  I had a friend who lost her mother about a year before her wedding.  Knowing of her loss and her upcoming big event, a few women showed up at her door and asked how they could help.  My friend didn’t even know what she was supposed to be doing, let alone give tasks to others.  These women jumped in and kindly helped her get organized and plan her day the way she desired.  It soon became a big neighborhood project for this young woman who was so grateful for the love others demonstrated.  A couple of women made alterations to her bridal gown.  Another checked out the prices for the menu items the bride was wishing for.  One spouse of those women is a graphic designer and he designed the invitations to her fancy.  Others gathered frames for the couple’s photos to display on the tables at their reception.  There are many tasks that many others can do.  The bride does NOT have to do it all.  A smart bride won’t do it all!  My friend not only received much help with her wedding, but she also learned a very important lesson about the human soul.  We love to feel needed and helpful.

Western Flair at Wedding Venues in Utah

Wedding Venues Utah offers can create a relaxing western feelI am excited to share with you about this wonder wedding celebration that had a Western theme.  Wedding venues in Utah that can lend itself to a variety of themes, like Atrium Weddings at Western Gardens Sandy, are perfect for those brides and grooms that want to let their personalities radiate to their guests.  This couple chose such a wedding reception in Utah and put on a wonderful event.  There were several unique features that really are worth writing about.

Jezria and Robbie had been married a week or so before their celebration.  This worked perfect for them because they were at such ease and relaxed as they spent quality time with friends and family.  A western theme permeated Atrium weddings with such clever style.  First of all, Jezria chose the unique table topper linens of brown burlap.  How unique and perfect for the celebration.  Atrium’s standard glass candle holder was tied with a simple orange ribbon and rested on top of the burlap.  Simple, classy, and comfortable!  Simple blue sashes were tied with a simple knot on every other chair around each table.  The groom wore a western blue shirt and the bride wore a casual white sundress with blue stoned cowboy boots.  What an adorable couple.

Utah wedding venues are perfect for Cold Stone ice cream. Yum!Cowboy boots and shirts were common as their guests were served up their choice of ice cream catered by ColdStone from Draper.  A variety of toppings were offered including M&M’s and nuts.  Guests could also choose a cookie from Atrium’s dessert server and enjoy drinking refreshing orange water.  The western theme filled the reception center with popular country songs playing on the great Atrium sound system.  A few simple flower bouquets in wood branch vases dotted the hall.  I loved the carved heart on some of the vases.

April 6, 2012 – A Wedding Reception in Utah with a Spanish Flair

Peek into a Utah wedding venue bustling with a Spanish flair  Welcome from Mrs. and Mrs. Flamingo

There are many wedding locations in Utah, but none had a flamenco flair on April 6, 2012.  Take a peek at the celebration that took place at Atrium Weddings at Western Gardens in Sandy, Utah.  The two pink flamingo bride and groom will greet you as you join in the party and meet a beautiful and fun wedding couple.

These two best friends were married and attended a wedding party unique and exciting for all to enjoy.  Pablo is from Mexico and his family also attend this wonderful celebration.  Alina is an exciting adventurer and has been taking flamenco dancing, so it was natural to include in their wedding celebration a taste of Spain.

Guests first witnessed a tender ring ceremony with these two friends, now lovers.  Then four friends stood and surprised the wedding couple with several quartet songs.  They were good!  A toast was presented and all guest tables had sparkling cider and goblets to raise and wish the newlyweds a wonderful future.  Guests lined up to a beautiful buffet of chicken cordon-blue, steamed vegetables, potatoes, gravy, and soft rolls.   No one could go away hungry.

When all were seated, a professional Flamenco dancing group of two dancers and two guitarists entertained the party with authentic Spanish dancing.  The main dancer used castanets, a shawl, and a fan throughout several dances to charm the wedding couple and guests.  The entertainment was topped with the bride joining her dance teacher in doing some flamenco herself.  It was a beautiful moment.  This bride has a flair for learning new things in life.

Cutting the cake was definitely on the fun side of the event.  Then after was the first dance.  It was then that everyone could see that the bride was wearing the same turquoise blue keds that her new husband was wearing.  These two are going to have a wonderful life full of love and adventure.
